The celebration of my dear nephew Andrew's marriage to Anne Marie, the woman of his dreams and his true companion, took place in Connecticut, on September 26, 2009.
They got married at the Gillette Castle, which stands high on a bluff overlooking the Connecticut River. It was a bright sunny day in early fall, and the castle was resplendent with its beds of brilliant flowers against the backdrop of blue sky and blue hills.
After the beautiful ceremony, we made our way to the reception, where we were regaled with a splendid dinner, followed by dancing, before which Andrew stood up and addressed us as follows:
'Mawwiage. Mawwiage is what bwings us togethew today. Mawwiage, that bwessed awwangement, that dweam within a dweam. And wove, twue wove, wiww fowwow you fowevah and evah..'
Then he went on to say this was from one of his favorite movies, Princess Bride, and continued with a simple and touching statement of how happy he and Anne Marie were to have family and friends here with them on this happy day. It was well done! They both looked so happy, and Anne Marie was absolutely lovely in her beautiful gown. Good luck to the young couple! A selection of pictures available here.
